My connection to People Growers runs deep, as I am the daughter of its founder, Kathy Bailey. I have been a witness to the company’s evolution since its inception in 1985, as the corporate world began to recognize the importance of employee wellness. In 1993, I played a significant role in establishing our first corporate offices in Los Angeles, contributing to the creation of tools and organizational procedures that remain in use today.
In 2000, I received an offer to spearhead the development of the Northwest Division in Portland, Oregon. Within just five years, this region became one of the largest and fastest growing divisions of People Growers, and we decided it was time to extend our services nationwide. After my mother retired, I took over the company and have been thrilled to lead its growth and operations for the past ten years. I am eager to continue the journey with People Growers and see where the future takes us.
I opened the doors of People Growers of America in 1985, as perhaps the very first health fair company in America. It simply seemed inevitable; a college degree in education combined with my first job of managing a string of Jack LaLanne nutrition centers, then a stint in the corporate worker’ comp industry opened my eyes to the crying need for educating America’s workforce in the areas of nutrition and exercise. From the first health fair (“wellness” wasn’t even a word in the dictionary until the 1990s) at Coca Cola, where we hauled out an executive in an ambulance from the blood pressure screening station, and found potential glaucoma in a 45 year old woman, I knew I was on the right road!
In 2000 my daughter Windy opened People Growers Portland division which now hosts programs for industry in the entire northwest and nationally, with clients such as Boeing, Daimler and Centurylink contracting our services all over America, year after year.
5000 events later, we are a full-service wellness and safety program consulting and implementation service. People Growers of America is “the genuine article”, with only one passionate agenda, best embodied in our Mission Statement:
To promote mental and physical health
self-responsibility skills,and reverence for life
through education, experience and example
in the workplace and in our own lives.

Drawing on my extensive experience in the restaurant industry spanning over 25 years, I decided to merge my expertise in teaching, kitchen operations, and love for food to create a distinctive role at People Growers. By encouraging healthier choices, we can showcase how great taste and good nutrition can be intertwined. With cooking demonstrations, culinary classes, and Lunch and Learns, I can offer a genuine “farm-to-table” experience, helping organizations introduce wholesome foods and flavors to their employees.
As People Growers continued to expand, my wife presented me with an opportunity to further develop my career by joining her as Business Manager. I was thrilled at the prospect of contributing to the growth of our business while working alongside my spouse. Working with our corporate clients, meeting members, and traveling across the country has been a fulfilling experience. I am excited to continue my culinary journey and expand our business with People Growers.
I came to People Growers in 2006 to start my new journey into wellness and a mission of promoting preventive medicine. After 16 years in the medical field, watching people fight to beat their illnesses, I knew something had to change. I felt the uncontainable desire to get out in the world and educate people on preventive medicine and early detection. I also wanted to have some fun doing it! That’s when I connected with People Growers. What could be better than planning “Parties with a Purpose”?! I have been able to organize wonderful events for corporations nationwide and use my medical skills to assist with educating employers and employees on the importance of worksite wellness programs. People Growers was started with one woman’s vision to make the workplace a healthy environment and for people to take these tools into their homes and personal lives.
This year I was promoted to National Director and I’m honored to be a key part of the growth and expansion of People Growers.

After 20 years in the sales/retail industry I was looking for a change in my life. As luck would have it, I was laid off in early 2018. After a much-needed rest I discovered People Growers through a friend. Their mission to educate employers and employees on how to improve not only their physical health but also their mental and financial wellness.
All these areas hit home with me and I knew I needed to be part of this incredible team! This last year has been a whirlwind of education, travel, and joy. Nothing can compare to watching people walk away from an event with the knowledge on how to better their life. It is incredibly satisfying to know that something I had a hand in creating helped someone. I am looking forward to helping even more people as I continue my journey with People Growers.
In Spring of 2018 I joined People Growers and have been loving every minute of the corporate event world. Prior to joining this fabulous team, I have been a family manager and volunteer extraordinaire.
I spent twenty plus years as a mother of five (last three triplets!), auction director, school board member, fundraising and marathon expo coordinator. Looking ahead to my next chapter in life I was searching for
a new profession. Combining my skills of multi-tasking, organization, and communication I found my home at People Growers.
I genuinely love connecting with people and I could not have found a better fit.
Outside of work I am an avid runner, love to hike, travel, dance and spending time with family and
friends.
